Packing for the Choquequirao Trek requires balancing two extreme climates within the same 24-hour cycle: the scorching heat and dry dust of the Apurímac Canyon floor (often topping 30°C / 86°F), and the brisk winds and cool nights of the high cloud forest at Marampata (dropping to 5°C – 8°C / 41°F – 46°F).
On our guided expeditions, your gear is split into two bags: a small daypack you carry on your back (15–25 liters), and a duffel bag transported by pack mules (up to 6–7 kg per hiker included in your package).
