Descripción

The 2-day Inka Trail to Machu Picchu is the solution for those who could not book the classic 4-day Inka Trail and perfect for those with tight schedules. With only 16 km of travel, you will reach Machu Picchu through the Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku). It combines a train trip with a hike, giving you the opportunity to travel part of the ancient Inca trail and enjoy spectacular landscapes during the first day and finally visit Machu Picchu on the second day.

Itinerary

Día 1Cusco – Chachabamba – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes

We will start our day by picking you up at your hotel and taking you to the train station. The train ride will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach kilometer 104, where we will begin our hike to the archaeological remains of Chachabamba. From there, we will continue to the archaeological remains of Wiñay Huayna, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch before continuing our hike to Inti Punku (Sun Gate). Here we will have our first view of Machu Picchu before heading to the control gate and entrance to the citadel. We will then take a bus back to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night, have dinner and prepare for our visit to Machu Picchu the following day.

Día 2Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

After breakfast, we will head by bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu, where we will take a guided tour of its different sectors for approximately 2 hours. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to enjoy the citadel before returning by bus to Aguas Calientes and taking the train back to Ollantaytambo and then to Cusco.

Note: If you want to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you must book at least three months in advance due to limited availability. This activity is optional (USD $70.00).
