Día 1Iquitos - Amazon Lodge

Your first day on the Peruvian Amazon tour starts at 8:00 AM with a departure from Iquitos. You’ll travel by car or mototaxi for 15 minutes to the Bellavista port, where you’ll board a boat for a journey of about 1.5 hours to your lodge deep in the jungle.

At 9:00 AM, an exciting visit to Monkey Island awaits, followed by a cultural encounter with the native Yagua community. Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll be assigned your cabin and then enjoy a delicious lunch at 12:00 PM.

In the afternoon, you’ll have the chance to observe gray and pink dolphins in their natural habitat. The day will end with a sunset observation, followed by dinner. Around 8:00 PM, you’ll experience a fascinating night safari, where you’ll hear the symphony of nature and discover the wildlife that inhabits the region.

Día 2Hiking and Exploration

On the second day of your adventure in the Peruvian Amazon, the day starts at 5:00 AM with an exciting sunrise tour. Get ready to spot monkeys and other animals beginning their daybreak activities. Around 7:00 AM, you’ll enjoy a nutritious breakfast to recharge your energy. Afterward, you’ll embark on a jungle hike in search of more wildlife and the chance to discover the ecosystem at its peak.

At 11:00 AM, you’ll return to the lodge to relax and prepare for lunch. In the afternoon, choose between exploring by boat or taking an additional hike to continue uncovering the jungle’s secrets. You’ll return to the lodge before dark to rest and enjoy a delicious dinner. Finally, at 8:00 PM, you’ll experience the thrill of a night safari, a magical opportunity to observe wildlife coming to life under the cover of night.

Día 3Indigenous Community Visit and Customs

On the third day of our tour, we start early at 5:00 a.m. with a spectacular sunrise tour, where you’ll witness the jungle waking up with the first rays of sunlight. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading to a riverside community. There, you’ll get an up-close look at the main customs and traditions of the local inhabitants, immersing yourself in their traditional way of life. At noon, we’ll stop for lunch, followed by our return to Iquitos. Finally, we’ll arrive in the city around 4:00 p.m., marking the end of our services and leaving you with unforgettable memories of the Peruvian Amazon.

🦟 How can I prevent mosquito bites and malaria in Iquitos?

The constant use of high-concentration DEET repellent and wearing light-colored, long-sleeved shirts and pants are strongly recommended. The lodge features window screens and mosquito nets over the beds. While malaria is extremely rare in the tourist areas along the Amazon River, repellent is your best defense.

💉 Is the yellow fever vaccine mandatory for this tour?

It is not legally mandatory to enter Iquitos, but it is highly recommended for all travelers entering the Amazon rainforest. The vaccine should be administered at least 10 days before your trip to be effective. Please consult your local travel health clinic before departure.

🔋 Is there electricity, mobile signal, or Wi-Fi at the jungle lodge?

Electricity is limited and provided by solar panels or generators during specific hours of the day (typically from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) for charging devices. There is no mobile phone signal or stable Wi-Fi at the lodge, offering a complete disconnect to enjoy the Amazonian wilderness.

🎒 What type of luggage should I bring for this 3-day trip?

We recommend bringing only a small daypack of approximately 30 liters with light changes of clothes, rain gear, and essential toiletries. Your main luggage (large suitcases) can be stored safely and free of charge at your hotel in Iquitos or at the boat boarding office.

✈️ Does this 3-day tour include flight tickets to Iquitos?

Domestic flight tickets are not included in the tour price. Travelers must book their round-trip flights from Lima to Iquitos (Iquitos Airport – IQS) independently. We will meet you at the airport upon arrival and transfer you back at the end of the tour.

The organization was good. Lodge is simple but clean. I liked the focus on the local community, it feels authentic not like a tourist trap. Bring a good flashlight for the night walk, the ones they give you are okay but not very strong.

ESTÁ IMPRESIONANTE!!! Neta tienen que ir. Los monos se te suben a la cabeza en la isla jajaja me dio un buen de miedo al principio pero guia Rodrigo nos ayudo a que bajaran con cuidado. El lodge está súper bonito y desconectado de todo, literal cero señal de cel. Lleven ropa fresca porque se suda la gota gorda.

Excelente viaje al Amazonas. Fuimos con mi señora por nuestro aniversario. La atencion de Matias fue de primer nivel, siempre atento a todo… Tuvimos un problema con la ducha de la cabaña el primer dia (salia solo un hilito de agua), pero hablamos con él y nos cambiaron a la cabaña de al lado en menos de 10 minutos. Pescar pirañas fue muy entretenido, no pensé que fuera tan fácil. La comida muy abundante y rica. Saludos desde Córdoba.
