The Cusco and Machu Picchu tour of 4 days includes the visit of the main attractions of Cusco such as: a Cusco City Tour, Maras and Moray, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.
Note: The tour Cusco and Machu Picchu lasts a total of 4 days, however it starts early in the day/ends late. Therefore travelers require at least 6 days in total, one day before (arrival) and one day after. (departure) These days are to allow adequate time for arrival flights/departures.
If you arrive in Cusco before noon, the City Tour will be coordinated for the afternoon service (1:30 pm). This starting tour is done by bus and light hikes in order to avoid altitude sickness.
The City Tour Cusco (group service) allows you to visit the best attractions of Cusco, the capital of the Incas. Among which: Temple of the Sun “Qorikancha”, The Cathedral and the visit of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay and Pucapucara.
This tour starts with pick up of the participants in their respective hotels and transportation to the aforementioned attractions. After which, it ends with the return to your hotel or Plaza San Francisco (3 minutes from the main square).
This day is highlighted by beautiful landscapes and visiting 3 other tourist attractions such as the ruins and platforms of Chinchero, the agricultural laboratory of Moray and the salt mines of Maras.
During this day you will visit these 3 towns, a tour that combines a short walk (about 2 hours) and also a bike ride (about 2 hours) through picturesque trails, enjoying beautiful landscapes and rolling fields: quinoa, among others).
Chinchero is an Inca town that still maintains its roots and customs. Its inhabitants inhabit the Inca constructions almost intact. From there they have a beautiful view of the snowcapped Salkantay, Veronica and Soray mountains.
Moray allows us to discover the magical agricultural laboratory that the Incas built to research food production around Cusco. They are incredible circular terraces that were designed to experiment growing crops at different altitudes.
Maras is an Andean town, famous for its salt mines (Salineras) dating from pre-Inca times and its magnificent views of mountains with perpetual snow.
The Sacred Valley was very important during the Inca Empire. It is here that large-kernel maize is produced, from then up to now, among other agricultural products of famous quality.
This famous Inca valley is one of the main tourist attractions of the Andean region due to its impressive landscape, its scenic snow capped mountains, its pleasant climate, its fertile lands with abundant water, its megalithic cultural archaeology, and because it offers diverse opportunities for adventure.
During this tour you can enjoy culture, art and architecture; visiting the archaeological center, the market of Pisac and the Inca citadel of Ollantaytambo.
In the evening hours you will take the train to Aguas Calientes where you will spend the night comfortably waiting for the next day where you will visit Machu Picchu.
This is the day we visit Machu Picchu. Starting early, we travel up from Aguas Calientes either by bus (additional cost $ 24 USD) or walking (1200 steps) to the entrance of the complex where we enter and enjoy a guided tour for around 2 hours with our certified guide.
After the guided tour you will have free time so that you can tour the entire citadel on your own and return to the town of Aguas Calientes at the time previously coordinated. Remember that train services for the return are already scheduled and it is necessary to be half an hour early at the railway station. The train will transport you from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo where you will be picked up by a transport that will bring you back to Cusco at night.
