Frequently Asked Questions

⛰️ How does my luggage storage in Cusco work?

Since large luggage or heavy suitcases are not allowed on the train or during the Machu Picchu visit, your main baggage must stay in Cusco. All hotels and hostels in Cusco offer free and secure luggage storage. You may also leave your bags at the Inka Jungle Tour office at no extra cost.

🚆 What type of train is included in the tour?

The tour includes standard tourist train tickets (Voyager by Inca Rail or Expedition by PeruRail) from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and back. If you wish to upgrade to a premium train service (like Vistadome or 360°), you can request it in advance for an additional fee.

🥾 What daypack should I bring for the 4-day tour?

We recommend bringing a light daypack of approximately 30 liters. You will pack your chores for the overnight in Aguas Calientes, rain gear, warm layers, and personal items. Note that there are no porters or pack mules on this tour, so you will carry your own daypack.

🥤 Is bottled water included during the excursions?

No, the tour does not include bottled water. We encourage you to bring your own canteen or reusable bottle to refill at stops. This helps us minimize single-use plastic waste in natural reserves and local communities.

🎟️ Is the Cusco Tourist Ticket included in the price?

Yes, this tour includes the General Tourist Ticket (BTG) which grants access to all Sacred Valley ruins (Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Moray) and Southern Valley sites (Tipon, Pikillacta). Admission fees to Maras Salt Pans and Andahuaylillas Chapel are also included.
