Description

The Sonqo Jungle is a 7-day private tour that allows you to visit Cusco under a comfortable service, without having to worry about accommodations, food, transportation and entrance tickets.

During this circuit, you can enjoy a Cusco City Tour (first day), relax and explore in Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley Tour (second day) and finally, do the Premium Inka Jungle Tour (from the third day on) towards Machu Picchu for our final destination. On the last day, you can relax and get ready for the transportation.

The tour includes a transfer service from your hotel to the airport or the bus terminal.

Itinerary

Day 1City Tour Cusco

The private City Tour usually starts in the mornings, according to the availability of the participants.

This circuit allows you to visit the main tourist attractions around the historical center of Cusco such as: Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, Q’enqo, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha).

This tour is done with private transportation, but also includes some sections of walking to appreciate and enjoy other not as popular attractions close the historic center of Cusco.

Day 2Sacred Valley tour

The Sacred Valley tour starts around 8:00 am with the pick-up of participants from their hotel and transportation through the valley to the village of Pisac. Once we have arrived, we can enjoy the famous ruins and its quaint traditional market. Then we will travel to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy lunch before continuing in direction of Ollantaytambo.

Ollantaytambo is an ancient stone village that is still inhabited by descendants of the ancient Incas. There we will have a guided tour in the archaeological complex for about 2 hours and then we will be transferred to our hotel where we will spend the night in a comfortable lodge, resting before the Inka Jungle tour the next day.

Day 3Ollantaytambo - Santa María (Biking and rafting)

The tour starts around 8:00 am with the pick up of the guests and transportation in direction of Abra Málaga (4,300 m), where we will begin the descent on bike, biking down until we reach the village of Santa María (1,200 m). After a lunch and a short break we will be able to go rafting for about 3 hours.

Later we will be transported to our lodging in the town of Santa María where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night in a comfortable hostel.

Day 4Santa María - Santa Teresa (Walking and thermal baths)

After a warm breakfast, we will continue our journey through an old Inca road towards the village of Kellomayo, crossing a variety of landscapes and climates, as well as scenic plantations of coffee, cocoa, coca, corn, fruits, among others.

After lunch we will walk for a few hours through one of the most biologically diverse areas of Peru to reach the thermal baths of Santa Teresa (Cocalmayo). After these relaxing hot springs we will continue with a light walk of approximately 30 minutes until we reach the town of Santa Teresa where we will relax and spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 5Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes (Zip line and walking)

This day, we will do the zip line, one of the most epic experiences of this excursion. Later, we will have lunch in a place called Hidroelectrica, before continuing on a charming walk along the train tracks towards the town of Aguas Calientes.

This trek will be marked by the historical descriptions that our guide will provide during the tour. In approximately 3 hours, he will describe the route that the great expeditionary that discovered Machu Picchu used.

At night we will meet in a tourist restaurant where we will have a delicious dinner and coordinate with our guide for visiting Machu Picchu the next day. We will spend the last night of the tour in a comfortable hotel at the foot of the great Machu Picchu.

Day 6Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco (Archeaological complex)

Around 4:00 am, we will get ready to start the climb to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu to have the opportunity to see the sunrise. After entering the archaeological complex (approximately 6:30 am), we will have a guided tour of the site for about 2 hours. After the tour, we will have some free time to visit the site at our own pace.

During this free time, you will also have the opportunity to climb some of the optional mountains: Huayna Picchu or the Old Mountain, a once in a lifetime experience.
In the afternoon, we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will rest, do the last shopping and wait for our return train. The train will take us to where we will be picked up by another transport and transferred to Cusco, the end of the tour.

Day 7End of the tour - Transportation to airport or bus terminal

This day is for transportation to airport or terrestrial terminal (bus terminal).
